After a day of adventures on the mountains, lake, or one of the two local ski resorts, you will likely unwind by sliding into the large hot tub and stare into the tops of one of the numerous pine trees. Breath deep... as the air is cold and clean. Nestled in the trees of lower Moonridge, Mama Bear’s Hideaway is conveniently located right on the bus route to Bear Mountain Resort for skiing, snowboarding, and snow play. Or take the 2-minute drive to Snow Summit Ski Resort instead. Night-time entertainment abounds in numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes spread throughout the town and Big Bear Village.

Newly added to our portfolio of Sensational Estates in the Fall of 2018, Mama Bear’s Hideaway is an exceptionally clean and nicely laid out cabin for two to three families to share. It offers 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a wood-burning fireplace, a game room with pool table, a media room with gas fireplace, updated kitchen, built-in BBQ, a relaxing out-door lounge patio with a fire pit table and brand new hot tub under the numerous fragrant pine trees speckling the lot. When comparing other properties for summer, be sure to ask if they have central air. It can get hot up here and very few homes have AC like Mama Bear's Hideaway. (AC does NOT go below 74 degrees)

FIRST FLOOR: Past the white picket fence through the garden and patio, you enter the cabin and will see the cozy couch with TV and gas fireplace. To the left, it has a media room with a wrap-around couch for watching movies or your favorite sporting events. One bedroom on this floor includes a queen bed with a twin bunk bed and access to a full bathroom. Out the sliding glass door, you will find a covered breezeway with oversized built-in BBQ, a large outdoor dining table with heating elements in the middle of the table and a large fenced in private patio with lounge furniture and hot tub for 6 people. The first floor also includes a completely renovated and updated kitchen for the chefs of your party as well as a dining room with seating and an adjustable table for 8-12 guests.

SECOND FLOOR: Up the stairs, you will find the master suite with a king bed and an en suite with a shower and bathtub. Across the hall is bedroom 3 and 4 both with a queen-sized bed. Down a hallway, Mama Bear’s Hideaway has a game room and bedroom number 5 with a pool table, wet bar, and the perfect bunk bed (twin over full bunk) sleeping for 2-3 children. A great cozy location for all your adventurers to gather. The laundry facilities and the 3rd full bath are also on this floor.

Bed accommodations for the entire cabin include: 1 King, 3 Queen, 3 Twin, 1 Double bed. It can host 12 people. This cabin features a washer/dryer.


PETS: NO pets allowed

Amenities include high-speed wireless, towels, and clean sheets, soap and shampoo, and new cabin themed bedding throughout the house. Most of the beds are brand new.

WINTER WEATHER: From November through March, all vehicles are required to carry chains in their vehicle. If stopped by highway patrol they will ask to see them. Weather can change quickly in Big Bear and significant snow can stop traffic and delay commutes to and around the Big Bear area. Watch the weather forecast and plan your trip accordingly. WowRentals does not provide refunds for winter weather conditions. During winter snowstorms, we will try our best to plow driveways as quickly as possible, but road conditions can slow down our ability to access many properties. Winter weather can create treacherous conditions. Drive safe and be prepared.

RENTAL AGREEMENT: All guests, regardless of booking direct or through third party channels will be required to read and sign a rental agreement with the property manager. Very clean, conveniently located home good for kids and adults of all ages. Clear and friendly communication with property managers. House was well stocked. Only con was the fire table didn’t seem to work (or at least I couldn’t figure it out).

This beautiful, large 2-story home is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. The kitchen is gorgeous, very modern and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of room to enjoy company or have space to yourself inside or out. Well-maintained and clean, and really loved the fire-pit built into the patio table! We will definitely stay here again.

Cancellation Policy
Due to Covid situation, reservations made for stays through June 30, 2020 will have a 10 day cancellation policy. If restrictions by the city, state, or federal government restrict use of vacation rentals due to Covid, WowRentals will provide the option of a full credit, or refund minus 5%. All cancellations (including shortened stays) are refundable (minus cancellation fees of 5%) if cancellation notice is received greater than ten (10) days before your scheduled check-in date. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within ten (10) days of the arrival date, forfeit the full Reservation Deposit unless rental unit is rebooked for the exact dates as your reservation.

For reservations made for stays after June 30, 2020, cancellation can be made 30 days prior to the reservation start date. All cancellations (including shortened stays) are refundable (minus cancellation fees of 5%) if cancellation notice is received greater than ten (30) days before your scheduled check-in date. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within ten (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the full Reservation Deposit unless rental unit is rebooked for the exact dates as your reservation.

All cancellation must be made in writing (email is acceptable) and all cancellations must be confirmed by WowRentals in writing as well. All Cancellations are subject to a cancellation fee equal to $75 or 5% of total reservation, which ever is greater. Cancellations due to weather, acts of nature, or environmental factors are not subject to refund or credits. WowRentals does not offer refunds due to mechanical/electrical failure or malfunctions with hot tubs, televisions or other appliances or equipment.

Deposit Policy
A Reservation Deposit equal to 50% of the rental rate is required to reserve your vacation rental. Reservation Deposit will be charged to your credit card during the booking process. The Reservation Deposit will be applied toward the total reservation fee. Reservation Deposit is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due thirty (60) days before your scheduled check-in date. The BALANCE OF RENT will be automatically charged to the credit card on file 60 days prior to check-in date. If reservation is made within 60 days of your scheduled check-in date, then entire payment and fees are due at the time of the reservation.
